Please excuse me cluttering your mailbox twice this week, but I promised to share good news if I had it, and I certainly do have it today. It is possible to have a literary crush, and Brevity is one of mine. Both the magazine, containing brief nonfiction pieces by careful, skilled writers, and the blog, containing, “daily discussions of craft and the writing life,” are as close to home as I’ve found since finding myself out to sea this last year.
Great piece and congratulations Marjie! Inspiring. Maybe after retirement from my own career in evidence-based research in education, I can write more. More often. And maybe publish something. Then again, I’ve a ways to go before I can retire.
Well I tried to post a comment on Brevity but got caught in a quagmire of 'this email has an account, please login' shifting to 'you can't reset this password because this email has no account here' - is this another topic for you? Anyway I love this post, and the post that was published. Thank you for all Marjie.

Well done! Read the piece and enjoyed it. 😁
Bravo! I love this analogy, and also feel much more sorry for writers than I ever have before.

Wow. This makes my day... congrats Marjie!!! (Subscribing - they should be rewarded for their wisdom)
totally terrific, Marjie! I loved this piece. It's so true and you tell the saga in a compelling, honest, and amusing way. Gotta laugh or we'd cry.
Super, Marjie! Congratulations!

Yay! That is great news! Do we get to read the winning piece?
