Love this -the word coming to my mind is: poignant. It seems we can't actually realize it until so much is behind us, it was never apparently ours to keep. Beautifully written.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Oh how I’ve been looking forward to this piece explaining the dried flowers in a jar!! It was better than I had imagined. Thank you for sharing your life… the messy parts, the sentimental parts, the painful parts, all of it. A life summed up with pretty flowers and a multitude of color ❤️❤️!

Marjie, This is so beautiful. The jars of dried flowers is a perfect metaphor for loss, time of life, empty home, memories -- so many things and you have captured them all with your amazing writing. Send it in-- to a place where memories and time matter

Ah, grief and stress:two demons that don’t take no for an answer.

Pat your dog, count your flowers, and stay away from gas ovens. Hugs

This is a gorgeous piece. I share with you the raging against the dying of the light, every year, to the dismay of my loved ones. And my mother tried to have a glamorous daughter that would reflect her style, but instead she had me. Eventually, I was able to put that aside and we become close, but there are still some pics of me looking ridiculous.

Lovely. Absolutely lovely.

PS - "Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster" is my favorite Godzilla movie. It's Ghidrah vs Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra, with the tiny twin fairy princesses convincing the trio to fight together. There's also a subplot involving a possible alien invasion. It's delightfully schlocky.
