There's something especially and hilariously threatening about that particular tea towel message displayed along with an elegant-looking tea setup, for two, where only one cup is filled...

In all seriousness, that picture is perfectly composed and you could sell it to the company for marketing purposes.

Primo post as usual. Thanks for all you do.

Oh, Marjie, it would be so much fun to have a mad hatter’s party. We will wear tea towel turbans and elegant caftans from stitched-together dish towels, dishcloths and dishrags. Your dad is guest of honour with a trollop or two of his choice, whom he might choose to rub or not. He can bluetooth us, on the other end of the table, with his hearing apparatus. We will all talk together about how we can pollock various white surfaces and sell it for millions. The art of rubbing white cars will also be discussed. Oh, what a loverly event that will be! Greetings from South Africa, where madness reigns under our non-coloured regime.

Alas. I am, again, confused. I’ve never heard of a dish towel- with or without a space…autocorrect put one in anyway- but I know what a tea towel is and try not to use them. There is nothing wrong with a bit of air drying.

I’m wondering if my ignorance stems from the fact that I was born in England and have lived in Australia for 50ish years…I dunno. (See? Aussie lingo.)

Also, I love the affectionate nicknames you have for your family. Doesn’t your dad have one too? I must implement some nicknames for my family members, well, other than the boring My Favourite Aunt (yeah, she is my only aunt. )

Keep up the good work etiquetting me!

I must be in the small minds category. We were having this exact discussion last week about what was in the sink drawer. We decided the terry cloth towels were for hands never for dishes. Tea towels had seasonal and touristy things printed on them. And don't forget the difference between dish towels and dish cloths. One of them is smaller and used while wet.
